Did You Know?
The late Tom Petty co-produced the Shelters' self-titled debut album in 2016. Petty even let the band utlize his in-home studio to record the record.
Both Jove and Simpson assisted in the production of Petty's 2014 album Hypnotic Eye
“The Gretsch Duo Jet is one of my favorite types of guitars. Lots of cool rockabilly guitar players use those, it has a great twangy sound to it,” said Jove in an episode of Digital Tour Bus.
In the News:
“If you like guitar-heavy rock and roll, the Shelters have you covered. There are many adjectives that could be used to describe the guitar tones scattered throughout the songs, including tough, rugged, slick and simmering. The songs at times are bluesy and anthem-esque and full of raw energy and swagger. The band’s sound successfully marries elements of ‘70s and ‘80s rock and roll with a modern flair.” - Paste Magazine
