Filtertrons in non-Gretsch hollowbodys?

Hi everyone, this is my first post. I've got the bug big time for a Gretsch Filtertron hollowbody sound but I am very light on funds so it looks like it'll be a long while before I can get my hands on one. I'm curious if anyone has any recommendations for a decent hollowbody that I could drop some Filtertrons in and approximate the vibe until I can afford the real thing? New, old, it doesn't matter to me, I can hunt it down. If I could find a lefty Country Gentleman for cheap though I'd jump on it in a heartbeat! My apologies if this type of discussion of non-Gretsch guitars is forbidden here.
